Iespejama misija (Mission Possible) is a nation-wide initiative founded to strengthen the value of education in Latvia by helping talented university graduates to become inspiring teachers and future leaders. Iespejama misija’s mission is to provide high-quality education to all children in Latvia, developing their skills and motivation to learn throughout their lives. Iespejama misija aims to do this by recruiting, selecting, training, and supporting successful young people to become teachers in public schools. Since its foundation in 2008, the organization has brought 127 new teachers to the education system and impacted 19 000 students. Approximately 50% of the 84 alumni of the programme continue their work in classrooms, and altogether 70% stay in education, initiating change through other paths, such as by developing new instructional materials, training other teachers, and developing solutions for better feedback in schools. Iespejama misija was granted the Cabinet of Ministers’ award for the investment in Latvia’s future, strengthening education as a value, and increasing students’ motivation to learn.
